I rescued a 14 mo male schipperke from a site in Post Falls, ID in 2006. Apparently he had been sold to a recent widow (her children got him for her). When he was 14mos they worried he might trip her, so she reluctantly gave him to the shelter (River City Rescue). I adopted him & we had a wonderful little dog for 14 years! Unbeknownst to us or the vet, he developed a very aggressive lymphoma, & died within 3 weeks of the diagnosis. That wad only 5 days ago & we're heartbroken. I've rescued 4 schips & am sold on the breed. It's so lonely not having our little Chester with us. We were told he was "breed standard" & he was so sturdy & beautiful! We have no idea where he was purchased as a puppy, but are hoping to find a male like him. He looked like he had some Kelso Kennels in him. We're thinking an adult dog who likes people & dogs (our toy Eskie is lost without Chester). They no longer exist. Perhaps someone in you organization has heard this story, &/or could refer us to a breeder or rescue site that has a male schip for rescue, adoption, or sale? I'm not certain how/if we could get into Canada during Covid, but we're hoping something could be worked out. Grieving in Idaho. Thank you, Sondra 208-904-4925

After that she my aunt took her but couldn’t handle her, then my cousin took her but didn’t work, then my parents took her until I was able to officially take her because I lived with her from day one of her being in the family... I was so heart broken when she was taken but now she’s mine and she’s 12... she’s slowing down but us old and broken ladies are 2 peas in a pod and I don’t want to even imagine life without her!!! That being said I know she’s getting old and so we are potentially looking for another if anyone knows where we can get one around Calgary area

Reply, Hi Jan, If you check out our Kennel Kards link on our website, you will find business cards for active Schipperke breeders. https://schipperkeclubofcanada.com/scc-kennel-kards In particular, you could start with breeders in the Western provinces including Jet Schipperkes and Darken Schipperkes. Thank you for visiting our website. I was wondering if there were any breeders around that have descendants of the Roetmop line. I had a Schipperke in the 1990s from this line and he was an incredible dog. I would like to get another Schipperke from that line, if possible. Somewhere in the Western Provinces would be better, but not essential. Recommendations of some kennels I could contact would be nice. Thank you in advance.
